Starting from 01/07/2024, new regulations will apply for import and export consignments to and from Romania. A unique ‘UIT code’ will be required for any consignment weighing more than 500kg and/or with a value exceeding €2,000.

Who needs to register:
– For exports from Romania: The obligation to register lies with the sender.
– For imports into Romania: The consignee is responsible for registration.
Registration requirements:
– The UIT code must be entered into the portal before the consignment is sent through the network. Ensure the UIT code is visible on the labels by including it in the customer reference field.
– The UIT code is a 16-digit alphanumeric code assigned when shipments are registered in the Romanian e-transport system.
– Registration must be done a maximum of three days before loading and is valid for 15 days for international transport and 5 days for national transport.

– Transport company VAT: 11557049
– Border crossing point: Artand (HU) – Bors1 (RO)
– Truck registration numbers: SAX-188/WAP-943
Implementation and monitoring:
For the initial 2-3 weeks, ICS will monitor compliance with these new regulations. After this period, regular monitoring will cease, and failure to provide a UIT code can lead to fines within 4-5 weeks. Timely provision of the UIT code is crucial to avoid delays in collection and deliveries.
Control measures by pallet ways:
Palletways will control this by checking consignments en route to ensure the presence of the UIT code in the system’s customer reference field.
