Start of the peak season

Peak season 2024 Seabourne Logistics: October 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025

As we enter the year’s final quarter, we are heading into the start of the peak season. Due to the increase in shipments during this busy period, peak surcharges will once again be applied, as they are every year. Below, we explain why these surcharges are necessary and what they entail.

Why a peak surcharge?
During the peak season, leading up to the busiest time of the year, we see a significant rise in shipments. To maintain our services at the same level during increased shipping volumes and capacity, operational costs rise, which is why the peak surcharge is introduced.

How does the peak surcharge work?
During peak periods, a surcharge of € 0.18 per kilogram (invoice weight) per shipment will be applied (excluding shipments within the BeNeLux). The existing surcharge will be doubled for shipments classified as non-conveyable, oversized, or large packages. In addition, the fuel surcharge will apply. These extra costs will be automatically processed on your invoice.

Please note: The peak surcharge does not apply to shipments sent under a pallet account or to sea and air freight shipments.
