Seabourne Group celebrates its 60th anniversary and will become Seabourne Logistics

Leading independent logistics operator with offices in the UK, The Netherlands, France, and South Africa

23 May 2022: Established in 1962 by Sir Clive Bourne as a leading parcel delivery service in Europe, Seabourne Group announces her new name: Seabourne Logistics. By rebranding our logistics activities in the Group to Seabourne Logistics and significant IT investment, we will go to the next stage of our global journey as we celebrate our 60th anniversary this year.

“The various business operations in the former group structure, will be consolidating its business operations in South Africa, the UK, France, and The Netherlands to take advantage of its unique synergies,” says Seabourne Logistics MD Jan Kalkman. The fact that we remain an independent company allows us to provide even more complete and efficient Supply Chain solutions for SME businesses entering new markets.

Over the past decades, Seabourne’s proprietary logistic offices and network have enabled us to provide best-in-class logistics services to our customers across the world. This re-branding reflects the significant progress we have made over the years, powered by our people and technology. The new website and logo of Seabourne Logistics reflects efficiency and reliability and more in line with our innovative and configurable IT solutions and new IT-Architecture.

It is more important than ever that we continue to innovate, introduce and develop new IT solutions which will help our customers, partners and internal teams, meeting the growing demands and expectations of the constantly changing market. The Covid-19 pandemic is an example of seismic shifts in the supply chain and logistics industry. Traditional business-to-business, wholesale and retail companies were unprepared and scrambled to adapt to the ‘new normal’ in an already booming direct-to-consumer e-commerce market.

We have evolved and transformed in line with these trends expanding and investing in our IT resources. As a result we are going to invest significantly in the upcoming three years, building our own Seabourne Logistics platform connected to third-party solutions like Connect Plaza, nSchift and Zendesk. This will provide our customers, partners and internal stakeholders true Supply Chain visibility and a seamless flow of information from factory till sofa. This solves many logistics challenges allowing our customers to focus on sales and marketing scaling their business.

Along with the rebranding, Seabourne Logistics is merging their six divisions under one name and  introducing their new e-fulfilment solution connected to a global multi-carrier strategy. This will allow our customers to have greater agility and flexibility in delivery solutions and inventory control, which will relieve them of logistics concerns entering new markets. They are also spared the challenges of having to build extensive network of operations without economies of scale.

“The rebranding and roll-out of this new offering and investment scope, connected to our 60th anniversary is a testament to what we have built and a commitment to be the first-choice partner in the Supply Chain industry for SME businesses entering new markets,” Kalkman said. It also reinforces our vision of providing a seamless flow of information and true Supply Chain visibility from factory till sofa by pairing our Supply Chain solutions.
